A little bit of sugar and a little bit of salt and boom! We’re back up! Here’s a quick recap of what happened in week 3 and a preview to week 4 in the 2007 Football Fanatics FFL!
The week started with half the league sporting a 2-0 record and half the league with an 0-2 record. Something this sports writer has never seen before. But things would change as 2 of the undefeated teams played and 2 bottom feeders played each other. Let’s start with the game of the week as Leo Chan’s 2-0 took on league rookie Sunday’s at the Stick who was also 2-0. Leo, the luckiest team this year, winning both games by an avg margin of less than 2 points was looking to count on the three headed monster of Frank Gore, TO and Steve Smith. But the weekend ended with a thud when Smith and Gore could barely score half of what TO put up. In the end the balance scoring by the rookie carried him to victory and a 3-0 record. “Well the luck couldn’t last forever. I could very well be 0-3 right now, so I’m happy sitting at 2-1, especially since I’m still ahead of that Yah00ligan dude.” Leo said from his Las Vegas office.
The best game of the week was produced by 2 of the bottom teams. In what Scott referred to as the “2007 Toilet Bowl” John’s Basement Dweller came from behind and gave to Scott where he didn’t like it. Reggie Bush and Colston provided the final touches leaving a horrible taste in McSuckin’s mouth and an 0-3 record. Both teams had their highest output but Basement Dweller finally came out of the basement for the first time in 2 years.
Domination of the week goes to Andre’s Disoriented team. They put up the high score of the year of 529.28 points to destroy Joseph’s struggling Juggernaughts. Andre goes to 3-0 while Joseph drops to 0-3. Joseph immediately put all of his players on the trading block as he was clearly unhappy with his Indianapolis Juggernaught team.
Adam’s Yah00ligan’s team had a great week. But Adam did what only terrible managers like Adam can do. He found a way to turn a huge win, which included the highest individual scoring effort (Ronnie Brown 122.00) to a disappointment. He killed THM sending them to their first loss and gaining Adam’s first win. But in the meantime, he left 2 100 point scorers on the bench including 1 which would have beat out Ronnie Brown. His coaching mistake cost him the high team score of the year, which also would have been the league’s all time high score of over 600 points. So Adam, congrats on getting the high individual player of the year score up to this point, and for getting your first win, but I’m still laughing at how you can’t do anything right!
Looking ahead to week 4, 3 undefeated teams left: Andre’s Disoriented team, Andy’s kragman and Will’s Sundays at the Stick. Andre and Will take on two 0-3 teams and can really soar in their quests to get to the playoffs and really make Joe and Scott depressingly in trouble if they put them away. Andy takes on Adam’s team and if history remains true, Adam’s bench might outscore his starters! The game of the week is between 2 of the 2-1 teams as Leo takes on THM, both teams lost their first games last week and look to avoid a 2 game losing streak. The final game of the week puts Juggernaughts against the Basement Dwellers in a battle of bottom supremacy. Good luck!
